Igbo traders in Bauchi State under the platform of Friends of Bala Wunti have declared their support for the 2027 gubernatorial aspiration of Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the chief communication officer of Bala Wunti Support Organisation, Abubakar Al-Sadique, following the group’s courtesy visit.

Leading the delegation, Mrs Okpala, a prominent figure in Igbo women’s associations, especially market leaders within the Igbo community, said the group believes strongly in Wunti’s vision, competence and capacity to transform Bauchi State into a hub of sustainable development.

She further assured that citizens of southern Nigerian extraction residing in the state are prepared to mobilise their support and votes in his favour.

Also, Mr Bright Obina, emphasised that, as business operators in Bauchi, members of the community are inclined to support only a candidate with proven expertise, experience, and economic foresight, capable of unlocking the long-overdue business opportunities that abound in Bauchi State.

He therefore called on all well-meaning citizens of the state to rally behind Dr Wunti’s agenda for economic revitalisation and social progress.

In his response, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bala Wunti Support Organisation, Arch. Muktar Ahmed Jarmajo welcomed the delegation and described the emergence of Friends of Bala Wunti, largely made up of business leaders from southeastern Nigeria, as a significant development that broadens the movement’s national appeal.

He stressed that meaningful economic progress in Bauchi State depends on the strategic preservation, promotion, and protection of its human and natural resources.

Arch. Jarmajo further expressed the organisation’s readiness to collaborate with the group, not only in the political sphere but also in advancing initiatives that will create sustainable opportunities for thousands of unemployed youths, that enable them to become self-reliant.
