IGP Orders Clampdown On Attackers Of Borno Police Station

Inspector-general of police  (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun has ordered clampdown on attackers of a police station and officers in Borno State.

Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a resolute response to the recent attack at Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State on Thursday at about 12.10am which led to the death of two police officers; Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat, the IGP condemned the attack and ordered an immediate and thorough clampdown on the perpetrators.

The police chief expressed condolences to families of the deceased officers, affirming that their sacrifices in the line of duty would not be forgotten, as their benefits and entitlements would be immediately paid to their families.

The Force PRO further said the IGP had directed the Zone 15 assistant inspector-general of police, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to mobilise adequate resources and personnel and collaborate with other security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are found and caused to face the full wrath of the law.

The IGP also reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to hold accountable those who jeopardise and disrupt security arrangement and safety in Nigeria.
