Rangers International technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has cautioned his players against complacency as the club intensifies its push for a 9th Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.
The Flying Antelopes reclaimed top spot on the table following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. With just three matches remaining, Rangers hold a slender one-point advantage over second-placed Rivers United, setting up a tense finish to the season.
Despite the team’s strong position, Ilechukwu has stressed the need for humility and focus, warning that any lapse in concentration could prove costly.
“We must remain humble in our approach—very, very humble,” he said. “This is not the time to relax or take anything for granted. Every point matters at this stage.”
The former Plateau United coach highlighted the league’s competitive nature, noting that several teams are still capable of influencing the title outcome.
Rangers will next face Bayelsa United away, a fixture that could test their resolve and title credentials. Ilechukwu acknowledged the difficulty of playing on the road but expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to deliver.
“Our focus is on the next match. We respect Bayelsa United, but we believe in ourselves and our capacity to get the job done,” he added.
