Akwa Ibom State governor Pastor Umo Eno has detailed security agencies to ensure none of the 27 commissioners or the special adviser nominees celebrate their appointments in Uyo, the state capital.

He vowed that the name of the official who flouted his directive would be dropped within 24 hours.
Rather, he directed the yet – to – be -screened and confirmed appointees to return to their respective local government areas to celebrate their nominations with their people.

The governor instructed the director of security to monitor compliance and report any nominee who chooses to hold his or her celebration in Uyo, the state capital for immediate action.

Governor Eno, who handed down the order yesterday during the inauguration of the Bureau of Statistics Board, Labour and Industrial Committee at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, said the imperative of the directive stemmed from the need of government’s desire to ensure the appointees have strong ties with the grassroots.

“Any nominee, except those from Uyo, who disregards this directive and celebrates in the capital will be sacked within 24 hours,” he warned.
