Imo: ADC Re-elects Prof. Okoroma, 15 Former Executives

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Imo State chapter, has re-elected the former state chairman, Prof. James Okoroma and 15 former state executive members.

The former state exco members were re-elected through voice votes, they include, the Deputy State Chairman, Hon. Demian Ezeagu, the state publicity secretary, Macdonald Amadi and the state legal adviser Barr. Kissinger Ikeokwu among others.

Other state exco members, three zonal chairmen and executive members were equally elected unopposed through voice votes

The Imo ADC Congress Committee Chairman from ADC national headquarters, Okem UK conducted the congress alongside his members.

Speaking earlier at the event held at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Arena, Owerri, former governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha expressed contentment with the turn out of the party delegates from the 27 council areas of the state.

He stressed that the party so far has registered over 200,000 members assuring that the exercise would continue after the congresses.

Ihedioha expressed optimism that those that would emerge as state exco members would serve the state with the fear of God.

In his comment, the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa commended all the delegates and party members for their conduct during the congress.

He stated that ADC as one.of the well organised and recognized party in the country will continue to welcome more new members.

Chief Udenwa recalled the successful conduct of Wards and LGAs congresses held across the state and assured that this congress will not be different.

In his acceptance speech, the new state chairman of ADC, Prof. James Okoroma thanked all party leaders and members for giving him another opportunity to serve the people of the state.

He promised to serve with dignity and best of his ability to actualise and bring the party to the part of victory in the state.

He said, “With the two former Governors of the state as leaders, there is no reason why the party cannot lay a solid foundation in the state.

The state chairman assured that ADC will surely set a new direction in the areas of health , education, human capital development and infrastructure.

He said that under his watch as the state chairman, the party will rebuild Imo State and make same a state of choice for investors all over the world.

Prof. Okoroma regretted that for some time now Imo State has attracted the least foreign direct investment in the whole of South East.

He said, ‘We will make Imo safe for our children and lay a foundation for Imo people to sleep with their two eyes closed.”
