All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has kicked off the electronic registration of its members.

Also, the party has taken decisive steps to strengthen its internal structure with the successful coordination of a sensitisation and e-registration device distribution at its secretariat, Okigwe Road, Owerri, the state capital.

This was made known by the state  APC chairman, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, when he addressed party faithful and stakeholders.

The interaction brought together top government officials, party leaders, and other stakeholders in preparation for the full rollout of the electronic registration exercise.

Those present included government appointees, LGA party chairmen, council chairmen, councillors, zonal and LGA e-registration supervisors, trained agents, and others.

At the meeting that also had members of the party’s State Working Committee in attendance, Ebere said the e-registration was a strategic party-building initiative designed to document APC membership, deepen internal democracy, and reinforce the party’s grassroots dominance in the 27 local government areas of the state.

Ebere described the exercise as timely and necessary, noting that a modern political party must be driven by accurate data, discipline, and active participation of its members.

He charged party leaders at all levels to take ownership of the process and ensure seamless mobilisation, coordination, and support for members during the registration exercise.

Participants at the meeting received technical briefings on the e-registration process, while trained agents and supervisors were formally issued devices to commence operations in their respective zones and local government areas.

According to the party chairman, the atmosphere reflected unity, readiness, and collective commitment to the success of the exercise.
