The Visit Nigeria Initiative, a national movement to reshape global perceptions of the country and strengthen ties with the diaspora community, has been unveiled in Abuja.

The project, endorsed by the Federal Government, seeks to position the country as a leading destination for tourism, culture and investment.

The unveiling took place in the nation’s capital over the weekend when the organisers announced the appointment of British-Nigerian strategist and author, Charmaine Hayden, as its inaugural Brand Ambassador.

According to its promoters, Visit Nigeria is designed as a long-term strategic platform that combines cultural diplomacy, economic engagement, and digital innovation to attract visitors and investors.

Founder and Project Director, Visit Nigeria Initiative, Iyad Ghraizi, described the programme as a formal invitation for the world to experience the country firsthand through moving beyond rhetoric to create “real solutions that welcome the world, engage our global family, and drive economic growth.”

“Nigeria’s story is one of courage, creativity and unstoppable potential. The Visit Nigeria Initiative is formal invitation for the world to experience that firsthand. We are moving beyond talk to building real solutions that welcome the world, engage our global family and drive economic growth,” he said.

In her remarks, Hayden said the initiative goes beyond tourism promotion to building sustainable national identity and economic opportunity.
