Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Stanley Nwabali, has revealed the status of the injury he suffered in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 on Saturday.
Ademola Lookman’s brace ensured Nigeria a place in the quarterfinals where they will face Angola in Abidjan on Friday after the Palaca Negras beat Namibia 3-0 in Bouake earlier on Saturday in the first of the knockout round games.

Nwabali, who spoke to the media after the game, said he is still feeling the pain, but he would have to wait for the doctor’s report.
Nwabali, l could not finish the match as he was replaced in the 80th minute by Francis Uzoho after a collision with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou left him in pains.
“I don’t know but maybe the doctor would tell, but I’m still feeling pains. You know when injury is new, you always feel pains.” he said.

Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro who also gave an update about Nwabili’s injury, claimed the medical team are yet to assess the extent of Nwabili’s injury, but expressed confidence that the Chippa United goalkeeper will be fit to face Angola on Friday at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
