Innovation technology organisation known as Discovery Hub Labondo has trained 21 kids on robotics and web designs to prepare them for computer based knowledge.
The four-week holiday coaching classes was meant to equip young Nigerians to live with the world rather than behind it.
The co-founder Julius Jesse Mbidomti, said, the hub is concerned about bridging the gap in knowledge in Africa.
“We need to train our young ones to think, learn and work to move ahead,” he said.
The programme director, Ms Kadwama Deborah Lazarus, said the event was meant to condition young people to renew their vision to cope with the fast changing world.
She said they learnt how to code using a particular language for kids called scratch and that they learnt power point presentation skills.
Explaining that the trainees were aged seven to 17 years, she said, “Technology is taking conventional jobs away from people and our young ones need to go with the quickly changing times.”
A beneficiary of the training, Miss Usiju Stephen Medugu, said the training had changed her mind set and skills status.
The 14-year-old Usiju said, “I had no idea before now how poster and fliers were made. Now, I know these things and think constantly about producing them on a commercial basis.”
