The Neo-Black Movement of Africa has warned against religious and ethnic division in the country. The organisation called for peace amid growing insecurity in the country.

Charles Chimezie, National Head of the Neo-Black Movement of Africa Worldwide, appealed to all Nigerians to remain calm and united as the nation confronts increasing security challenges.

He said terrorism has no religion, no ethnicity, and no political identity.

He said, “It is a threat to every citizen, Christian, Muslim, traditionalist; North, South, East, West; rural and urban communities alike.

“Framing it as a religious or tribal confrontation is both dangerous and counterproductive.”

He said recent international comments, including those made by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, should not be interpreted as an attack on Islam or on any Nigerian community.

He said the country must rise above narratives that create fear or division among our people.

“NBM of Africa emphasises that this moment calls for strategic national cooperation, responsible dialogue, and stronger partnerships with the global community. The Movement, therefore, encourages the Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to deepen its collaboration with international allies, including the United States, especially in intelligence sharing, counterterrorism technology, and humanitarian responses.

“To our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria, the Movement reaffirms its deep respect for Islam as a religion of peace. The current situation is not a reflection of the faith, but a challenge posed by extremist elements who do not represent the values of any religion.

“To all Nigerians, we appeal for: Calm and restraint, Unity across tribe, belief, and region, Support for national security agencies. Rejection of misinformation and inflammatory narratives, along with a continued commitment to peaceful coexistence. This is a time for collective focus, not fear; unity, not division; and responsible leadership, not reckless emotion”, he said.
