Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobirhas called on President Donald Trump to jettison incitement on Nigeria’s security situation and help the country with the required technological support to locate the enclaves of terrorists and bandits to end their attacks on innocent citizens.
Gobir made the call in Sokoto, while speaking with journalists on the steps being taken by the US on Nigeria’s security situation amidst the recent air strikes.
According to Senator Gobir, ”It is not wise, fair and sincere for the US to allow being fed with untrue figments of confusion that Christian genocide is taking place in our country.
“This is unacceptable for some one in another country to cause confusion in Nigeria based on wrong information.
”US should not be driven by wrong perception. It needs to cross check facts by sending a mission to get the actual happenings in the country.”
He absolved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he inherited the situation from his predecessors who, if they had put in practical efforts from the beginning, things would have been almost done and thrashed.
Gobir emphasized that, Tinubu was practically committed to securing the country and ensure that terrorists and bandits paid the price of their dastardly activities in same way they were threatening innocent citizens.
He wondered why the confusion on genocide in a country where families were living in same homes with some Christians and some Muslims, citing example of himself, ”My step mother in-law is a Muslim and married to a Christian.’
”Bomb don’t discriminate whether Muslim or Christian. In my village in Sabon Birni where bandits attacks are frequent, we have churches,” he said.
