Investing In Youth Critical To Building Resilient Communities – Danladi

The Founder of the Caleb Danladi Foundation, Caleb Danladi, has stressed the importance of investing in young people, saying such investment is critical to building resilient communities and preparing Nigeria for the future.

Danladi asserted that the Caleb Danladi Foundation joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 2026 International Youth Day with a digital literacy training programme for 45 youths and students in Ketti Community, Abuja.

The initiative, organised as part of the Foundation’s youth empowerment efforts, focused on equipping young people with essential digital skills to enable them to take advantage of opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, employment and the digital economy.

Speaking during the programme, Danladi said that young people should be regarded not only as leaders of tomorrow but also as important contributors to national development today.

“International Youth Day is a reminder that young people are not only leaders of tomorrow; they are important contributors to development today. Digital literacy is no longer a luxury. It is an essential skill for education, employment, entrepreneurship and meaningful participation in the modern economy,” he said.

He explained that Foundation deliberately took the programme to Ketti to ensure that young people in underserved communities were not excluded from opportunities created by technological advancement.

“Our” goal is to bridge the digital divide by bringing knowledge and opportunities closer to the grassroots. We want these young people to see technology not just as something they consume, but as a tool they can use to learn, create, innovate and build sustainable livelihoods,” Danladi said.

He called on the government, private organisations, development partners, and other stakeholders to increase investment in digital education and youth development, particularly at the grassroots level.

The District Head of Ketti,  Alex Akata, commended the Caleb Danladi Foundation for bringing the digital literacy training to the community, describing the initiative as timely and relevant to the needs of young people.

Akata expressed appreciation to the Foundation for investing in the future of KettKetti’s students, noting that digital knowledge has become an important component of modern education and economic development.

“We “sincerely appreciate the Caleb Danladi Foundation for bringing this programme to Ketti. Our young people need opportunities like this to acquire knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the future. Digital literacy is essential, and we are pleased that the Foundation has chosen to take this important initiative to our community,” he said.

The district head called for sustained collaboration among the community, Foundation, government agencies, and development partners to create more opportunities in digital literacy, STEM education, entrepreneurship, and skills development.

The 45 beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Foundation for bringing the training closer to them, describing the programme as an opportunity to acquire practical knowledge that could improve their educational and economic prospects.

The Caleb Danladi Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its digital literacy, STEM education, youth skills development and leadership programmes to more communities across Nigeria.

The Ketti training forms part of the FoFoundation’s broader efforts to mark International Youth Day by promoting practical opportunities that empower young people to become productive citizens and active contributors to national development.
