Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has called for a more structured, professional approach to film promotion in Nigeria.

Kosoko made the remarks during an interview on the TVC Breakfast Show, where he addressed the growing trend of unconventional marketing strategies in the industry.

He noted that while some actors have adopted street dances and social media-driven campaigns to promote films, such methods may not align with global standards.

According to him, although these strategies have delivered results in terms of box-office performance, there is a need for a more organised promotional system.

“There is nothing wrong with that approach, but it is not the best. There should be a more professional way of promoting our movies,” he said.

Kosoko added that the current environment often compels actors to take on promotional roles that marketing professionals would typically handle.
