Team Nigeria’s women basketball squad, ‘Tigress, have qualified for their first-ever quarterfinal at the Olympic Games following a hard-fought 79-70 win over Canadian counterparts in their final group B match on Sunday.

The Nigerian Women’s basketball team pulled off a thrilling performance, coming from behind to beat Canada, ranked fifth in the world in the intense encounter at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics in France.

D’Tigress started the third quarter like a house on fire, going on an 11-0 run to lead Canada by 9 points with Ezinne Kalu, Promise Amukamara, ans Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, all on a score sheet.
