Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on Monday, terminated the appointment of the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Cyprian Akaolisa.
Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy in the state, Chief Declan Emelumba who made the disclosure, Monday afternoon did not give reason for the removal which takes immediate effect.
Akaolisa has been directed to hand over government properties in his possession immediately to the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
“The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has approved the immediate removal from the office of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr C .O. C Akaolisa,
“The erstwhile commissioner has been directed to hand over all government property under his care to the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Justice, immediately,” the directive read.
Akaolisa was Uzodimma’s placeholder for the position of Deputy Governor in 2019 and was famed to be a close ally of the state governor.
