The apex court dismissed the appeals and upheld the election of the two governors.

In a lead judgement read by Justice Tijani Abubakar on Friday, the apex court unanimously dismissed an appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Isah Ashiru, and upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, which set aside the earlier decision of the Kaduna State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sacking Sani and declaring the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state as inconclusive.

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.

In a separate verdict, the apex court also affirmed the election of Governor Idris of Kebbi State.

Delivering the lead judgement, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.
