JUST-IN: Tribunal Adjourns Hearing On Peter Obi’s Petition To Wednesday

Hearing on the petition filed by Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate has been defeated till Wednesday, May 10 by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).

The Tribunal began its hearing on the petitions filed by aggrieved presidential candidates on Monday.

LEADERSHIP earlier reported that the chairman of PEPT, Justice Haruna Tsammani, had dismissed the petition of the Action Alliance (AA) filed against the electoral victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

The Tribunal dismissed the petition after it was withdrawn by the petitioner on Monday.

Counsel to the petitioner, Oba Maduabuchi, SAN, withdrew the petition and prayed the court to dismiss same.

Defendants in the petition did not object to the prayer of the petitioner.

Consequently, the Tribunal dismissed the petition.
