A former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has said Kaduna State deserves leaders who speak with confidence, act with courage and effectively advance the interests of their constituents at the national level.

Sani made the assertion in Kaduna when he reacted to his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election, where he secured the party’s ticket to contest for Kaduna Central in the next general election.

He expressed appreciation to the party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for what he described as strong backing throughout the contest, noting that the outcome reflected collective effort and political commitment.

The former lawmaker also commended Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, for his support, describing him as a long-time ally and fellow activist with whom he shared years of political engagement.

“Kaduna State deserves representation by people who can speak with confidence, stand with courage and make the people proud whenever their services are needed,” he said.

Sani added that Northern Nigeria continues to face challenges such as insecurity, poverty, industrial backwardness and social decay, stressing that these issues require strong legislative attention at the national level.

He said his legislative focus would include pushing for development-oriented policies, improved infrastructure, better healthcare delivery and educational advancement across Kaduna Central.

He also said ongoing projects in the state reflected efforts to improve living conditions and strengthen public trust in government.

“My presence in the Senate is to ensure that Kaduna State gets the necessary federal attention to complement what is being done at the state level,” he said.

Sani assured his constituents that they would receive dedicated and accountable representation, adding that he remained committed to defending their interests in the National Assembly.

He urged all aspirants in the primary election to accept the outcome in good faith and work toward strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He cautioned against the use of ethnic and religious sentiments in politics, urging Nigerians to focus on unity and collective efforts to address insecurity, poverty and underdevelopment.
