Ibrahim, during an interview with journalists at the training of stakeholders on Tuesday in Kaduna, explained that the project was aimed at improving urban mobility, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing the quality of lives for residents.

The training was themed ‘BRT As A Tool For Moving Growing Population Sustainably In A Digital Age’. He noted that the project has kick-started, adding that what was remaining is the full implementation.

“It is a 24-kilometer corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha. The whole project is €110 million,” he stated.

Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner, Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, Ibrahim Hamza, stressed Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to transforming urban mobility and improving the quality of lives and economic growth in the communities.

He added that the project was part of the government efforts to enhance transportation services across Kaduna State

“I am delighted to emphasise that the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit System (KBRT) initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing transportation services across our state.

“It is not only the second largest transit system in Nigeria but also the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria. This makes it a landmark project that we should all take pride in. This initiative reflects our commitment to transforming urban mobility and improving the quality of life and economic growth in our communities,” the Commissioner stated.

He, however, urged the participants to think critically on how to address the challenges they face and enhance the user experience for all commuters.

The chief executive officer, Ochenuelu Mobility, Engr. Emmanuel Oche John, who is also managing the capacity programmes of BRT, noted that they were making sure that all stakeholders involved were knowledgeable about the project.

The team leader, Ted Regino of Rebel Artic Joint Venture, explained that his company was charged with the supervision of the contractors of the project, assuring residents of Kaduna of timely, efficient and quality service delivery.
