The management of Kaduna State University (KASU) has announced the appointment of a seasoned media and development consultant, Hamza Musa Makarfi, as the institution’s new Director of Corporate Services.

The appointment, which took immediate effect, was approved by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the university’s corporate image, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication.

Makarfi brings with him a wealth of experience across media, education, and institutional leadership. A former Zonal Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Kaduna Network Centre, he also served as General Manager of NTA Lafia and as a senior producer at NTA Headquarters in Abuja.

Among his many career highlights was his role as producer and anchor of high-level national programmes, including 7 Point Agenda and Power Links, both of which gained prominence for spotlighting government policy and infrastructure development. He also served as a NTA State House Correspondent during the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The new director’s academic background is equally robust, holding a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Benue State University, Makurdi, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Bayero University, Kano.

Recognised for his development advocacy and passion for mentorship, Makarfi has nurtured many professionals in the Nigerian media and academic sectors. He is also a former school administrator, further underscoring his multidisciplinary credentials.
