Popular Nigerian skitmaker and actor, Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has earned widespread commendation after announcing the cancellation of his planned birthday celebration in response to the country’s security challenges.

The entertainer, who is set to mark his birthday on June 14, had earlier revealed plans to host a special event for his fans as part of the celebrations. The announcement generated significant excitement, attracting thousands of reactions across social media platforms.

However, in a video shared on Instagram, Kamo State disclosed that he had decided to call off the event out of respect for victims of insecurity and recent kidnapping incidents involving schoolchildren and teachers.

According to him, it would be inappropriate to proceed with a celebration while many families continue to grapple with the pain and uncertainty surrounding their loved ones.

Explaining his decision, the actor expressed gratitude to his supporters, noting that the initial birthday announcement had attracted more than 60,000 comments.

“I said I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a few of my fans and posted it on all social platforms. Since the post, I’ve had 60,000 comments. I am so grateful, y’all are KamoNation. I am here to tell you all that I have postponed my birthday for this year. I am not celebrating it anymore because we can’t have a party at this time,” he said.

Kamo State added that the safety of citizens must remain a priority, stressing that there was little reason for celebration while abducted children and teachers were yet to reunite with their families.

“My birthday party is cancelled out of respect for the current situation in the country. Little children and teachers who were abducted haven’t returned home, so there’s nothing to celebrate,” he stated.

His decision was met with an outpouring of support from fans and social media users, many of whom praised the gesture as thoughtful and empathetic.
