Actor and Comedian, Akinyoola Ayoola, alias Kamo State, has been ranked the second-highest-grossing Nollywood actor of all time, amassing a total of ₦6.56 billion across nine cinema releases.

The achievement underscores a notable shift within Nigeria’s entertainment landscape, where digital creators are successfully crossing over into mainstream cinema and driving significant commercial returns.

Kamo State’s steady rise in Nollywood has been fuelled by roles in commercially successful films such as ‘Efunroye’ and ‘It Takes Two’ (2026). His performances, often rooted in humour, cultural authenticity, and relatability, have resonated strongly with audiences, translating into impressive ticket sales nationwide.

Industry analysts say his growing appeal reflects a wider trend of youth-driven storytelling gaining dominance in cinemas, alongside the increasing monetisation of social media influence.

Beyond the big screen, Kamo State has built a thriving career as a comedian and digital content creator, commanding millions of online impressions across platforms. His portfolio spans acting, brand endorsements, and content monetisation, with estimates placing his net worth at over ₦300 million.
