Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has promised support for the Khatamul Anbiya Institute of Islamic Science which the emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has commissioned.
The monarch stressed the importance of imparting the true teaching of Islam to promote peaceful coexistence.
He also called on the state government to support the initiative of the institute.
The emir made the call while delivering the address during the event that took place in Kano, yesterday.
“We are very pleased with the mission of the institute. We urge the authorities and affluent individuals to collaborate with the Khatamul Anbiya Institute of Islamic Sciences to achieve this noble objective.
“We also implore the community to enroll their children so they may benefit from this bestowed blessing. We pray for Almighty Allah’s support for the mission of the institute,” he stated.
Responding on behalf of Governor Yusuf, the commissioner for education, Umar Haruna Doguwa, pledged the support of the state government for the institute.
“I assure this institute that the executive governor will extend his support. We are undertaking this to assist everyone,” he said.
On the rationale behind establishing the institute, the registrar, Engr Muhammad Shu’aib, said, “The Khatamul Anbiya Institute of Islamic Sciences stands as a testament to our collective commitment to fostering an environment where education transcends barriers, diversity is celebrated and the true spirit of Islam guides us all towards a harmonious and prosperous society.”
He explained further that the essence of the project lies in the profound idea of imparting the teachings of Islam in all its depth and breath, with a methodology that emphasizes tolerance, dialogue among civilizations and mutual respect for alternative views.
