A viral moment from the Kano State Government’s mass wedding programme has sparked fresh debate over the priorities of government spending, after a groom publicly celebrated the addition of another wife during the state-sponsored ceremony.

The mass wedding was part of a ₦1.5 billion initiative by the Kano State Government to facilitate the marriage of 1,500 couples, according to reports by Punch.
