Kano Pillars have signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radio France International (RFI) Hausa to serve as the club’s official media partner.
General Manager of the Club, Ahmed Musa, and the Director and Chief Coordinator of RFI Hausa in Nigeria, Joseph Penny, signed the (MoU) on Thursday at the Conference Room of Sani Abacha Stadium.
Speaking during the event, Musa described the development as historic, considering the massive fan base of the club which is not limited to Kano or Nigeria, but across the African continent.
He said such sponsorship remains historic and a moral booster for the players and the team.
“RFI is offering far more than we expected. They are contributing N5 million in cash, along with a total support package worth around N100 million,” Musa said.
In his remarks, the RFI Chief Coordinator said the partnership aligns with his organisations’ commitment to promoting sports and community engagement across Nigeria and beyond.
He said the football club under Ahmed Musa, will propel the club to greater heights, hence the need to support his visionary leadership.
“It is RFI’s first football sponsorship in history and includes full sponsorship of new kits, provision of state-of-the-art media equipment for club communications, and training for Kano Pillars’ media team in professional video production, along with media publishing on RFI Hausa platforms,” he stated.
LEADERSHIP had reported that Musa pledged to restore the club’s glory, leveging strategies such as seeking for sponsorship and reducing dependency on government to make the Kano Pillars successful.
