A group of youths in Katsina State have attacked and burnt the house of one Abubakar Mani for his alleged blasphemous statement posted on social media.

The post was said to have been against Prophet Muhammad by Mani, a Christian living in the Babaruga community which caused tension in the area.

Investigation revealed that Mani escaped from the house, but his car and house were burnt down by the mob.

Findings also showed that his comments posted on Facebook about the Muslim religion in the Hausa language, was considered blasphemous and disrespectful to the Islamic faith.

As at the time of filing this report yesterday, Mani’s whereabouts was still unknown.

The chairman of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Venerable Muyiwa Segun, who expressed concerns over the issue, said peace had been restored following the prompt measures taken by the state commissioner of police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa.
