The Tuberculosis and Leprosy Office in Kebbi State said it recorded the treatment of 22 cases of TB in the state last year.

The state programme manager of TB, Shehu Auta Gele, disclosed this when he briefed newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

Gele attributed this achievement to the strong commitment of the state government, support from development partners and sustained media sensitization efforts.

He appreciated key partners including the Leprosy Mission Nigeria, Society for Family Health, Medicins Sans Frontiers, the World Health Organisation, HCSI and various community-based organisations for their continuous support in the fight against tuberculosis in Kebbi State.

He called on people to always adhere to advice from health officials against communicable diseases which could easily be transmitted to human beings.

Gele however commended Governor Nasir Idris for trying his best towards repositioning the health sector in the state.
