The Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, Umar Muhammad Hadejia, has presented a cheque of N11.4 million to 18 family members of deceased personnel who lost their lives in active service.
The spokesman of the Police command, SP Bashir Usman revealed this in a statement in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, the CP Hadejia, while presenting the cheque on behalf of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu to the beneficiaries at the command’s headquarters said the gesture was under the Group Life Assurance (GLA) and Group Personal Accident (GPA) insurance schemes, in fulfilment of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of families of its deceased personnel.
The commissioner appreciated the services and contributions of the deceased officers to the state and the nation saying they will not be forgotten.
He stressed that the benefits will provide meaningful support to their families.
Some beneficiaries who spoke with journalists expressed their delight to both IGP and the CP for facilitating the gesture which they described as a demonstration of continued care for the families of late co-officers.
