Kebbi Governor Distributes Fertiliser, Inputs To Farmers

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has distributed fertiliser and other farm inputs to 48,000 farmers across the state.

At the distribution ceremony yesterday at KARDA premises along Kalgo Road, Idris announced that the programme was under the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fadama III Implementing Unit.

He pointed out that it was in fulfilment of his campaign promises, assuring that under his administration no farmer would be left behind.

Governor Idris said N4 billion was earmarked for the purchase of the fertiliser and another N3 billion for the farm inputs.

According to him, 100 trucks of assorted fertiliser will be distributed to people of the state free and another 110 trucks to the local government areas.

He charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the inputs given for mass food production and warned that anyone caught diverting the commodities would be arrested and prosecuted.
