Kebbi State government is set to commence a 34-kilometre road project linking five communities in the Birnin Kebbi and Argungu local government areas.

At the flag-off of the project yesterday, Governor Nasir Idris said the Dukku-Tarasar Road project under the Birnin Kebbi local government area, covering two kilometres, will be be completed within six months.

Another 32-kilometre Birnin Lafiya-Gulma-Natsini Road project under the Argungu local government area has a 12-month completion period.

He said the two projects are part of his 2023 campaign promises, reflecting his administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure to ease transportation and connect villages and urban areas.

“During our campaigns in 2023, the people in these areas complained of experiencing difficulties in the transportation of their commodities to urban areas due to the poor condition of the roads. I have immediately approved the commencement of the 34-kilometre construction work to solve their problems,” Idris said.
