The Kebbi State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has sought collaboration with MTN Nigeria to enhance the efficiency of its members.
Chairman of the chapel in the state, Kabir Wurma, made the plea when he led executive members of the chapel on a courtesy visit to the manager in charge of Customer Relations, MTN Kebbi office, Alhaji Mustapha Malami Gwandu.
“We are to show solidarity and support for the services that MTN is rendering to the general public and also to cement our relationship with the company.
“Moreover, we want to use this visit to seek partnership with MTN Nigeria that we have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company, which we believe will be beneficial to both entities,” he said.
According to Wurma, the world has advanced in technology and there is a need for the company to sponsor a training workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the members of the chapel to boost their reporting capabilities.
The chapel’s chairman told the MTN manager that the network is the first choice for journalists in the state while others come second.
Responding, the manager in charge of Customers Relations, Mustapha Malami Gwandu appreciated members of the fourth estate of the realm for the visit, saying, “I have never experienced a visit like this. You have demonstrated your determination to excel in reportage to move your respective organisations and the state you are covering forward.”
