Kebbi To Hold Argungu Int'l Fishing Festival 2025

The Kebbi State government has concluded arrangements to organise the Argungu International Fishing Festival in March 2025.

Already, a steering committee under the chairmanship of the deputy governor, Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida has been inaugurated at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Governor Nasir Idris said his administration has decided to hold the event due to its importance and value to the state’s economy and cultural heritage.

He charged the committee members to immediately swing into action so that they could beat the time frame.

The chairman of the committee and the deputy governor, Senator Abubakar Umar, assured the governor that they would diligently discharge their assignments.

In a related development, the committee has visited Argungu town where they paid a courtesy visit to the emir, Alhaji Samaila Mera and informed him about the task ahead regarding the fishing festival.
