Kebbi To Reform Livestock Sector

Kebbi State government has pledged to transform livestock and animal breeders to international standard.

Governor Nasir Idris gave the assurance when he addressed veterinary doctors in Birnin Kebbi.

He said his administration had taken bold steps to make the welfare of veterinary doctors a top priority as well as livestock sector in order to improve the livelihood of the common people in the state.

The governor who spoke through the commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Alaramma further announced that the largest veterinary clinic in the country awarded by the administration is almost completed in Birnin Kebbi.

He added that it is in this regard, government has empowered small and large scale livestock farmers and supported demarcation of game reserves to curtail the farmers/herders clashes.

He also disclosed that government of Kebbi State has entered into an agreement with Brazilian and Indonesian governments on livestock production in order to boost agricultural production.
