The Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology Aliero (AFUSTA) in Kebbi State will confer honorary doctorate degrees on Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II and governors of Sokoto, Zamfara and Imo states. Ahmed Aliyu, Dauda Lawal and Hope Uzodimma, respectively.
The vice chancellor of the university, Prof Danshehu Bagudu Gwadangaji announced this yesterday at a press conference at Conference Hall of the school in Aleiro.
Danshehu said the distinguished Nigerians will receive their honorary doctorate degrees during the university’s maiden combined convocation for the 2010 /2011 and 2023/2024 academic sessions slated to hold on Saturday January 10
According to him, the management of the University decided to confer the personalities with the degrees due to their leadership, service, and contributions to their states, national development and humanity.
He added that these illustrious leaders and revered monarchs have contributed to governance, peace-building, education, and socio-economic development across the country.
Prof Danshehu further revealed that a total of 7,221 graduands drawn from 13 academic sessions will be awarded with degrees, diplomas and certificates during the convocation which he described as historic.
