Kefas Honours Slain Officers’ Families With N3m In Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has honoured the three police officers killed on active duty with N1million each presented to the deceased families in Tor-Damisa community in Donga local government area of Taraba State.

Presenting the condolence letters, on behalf of Governor Agbu Kefas, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr . Gebon Timothy Kataps , said the gesture was recognition of the courage and sacrifice of the slain officers who died while protecting lives and property in the state.

Governor Kefas described their deaths as a painful loss to their families, the Nigeria Police Force and Taraba State as a whole, stressing that their commitment to duty and service to the nation would not be forgotten.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in the fight against crime and criminality, and maintaining peace across the state.

Responding on behalf of the bereaved families and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Morkwap Sebastian Dongshal, expressed appreciation to the governor for honouring the officers.

The police commissioner commended Kefas for identifying with officers and men of the command, saying the gesture reflected genuine concern for the welfare of security personnel and recognition of the sacrifices they make in the line of duty.

The commissioner assured the governor of the command’s continued dedication to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
