Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to unite and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Kefas made the appeal during an interactive session with the campaign organisation of the State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar, held in Jalingo, the state capital.

The meeting, which took place at the residence of the coordinator, drew party supporters, political associates and stakeholders who gathered to deliberate on strategies for the 2027 polls.

The governor urged party members to close ranks and work towards sustaining the APC’s political fortunes in the state and at the national level.

He also canvassed support for his second-term ambition and endorsed first-term lawmakers seeking re-election into the state and National Assemblies, saying continuity in governance and representation was necessary for sustained development.

Governor Kefas described the decision of Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar not to contest any elective position as a sacrifice made in the interest of party unity and stability.

According to him, the development presents an opportunity for APC stakeholders to consolidate support for President Tinubu and strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

The governor therefore stressed the need for cooperation among party members, noting that unity remained critical to achieving political stability and development in Taraba State.

In his remarks, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar reaffirmed his decision not to contest in 2027, saying the move was aimed at promoting unity within the APC in the state.

He called on members of his campaign organisation to remain loyal to the party and support the re-election bids of President Tinubu and Governor Agbu Kefas.

Some of the stakeholders at the meeting, including Ambassador Jerry Manwe and the Taraba State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, commended the governor’s leadership style and pledged their support for his second-term bid.

Governor Kefas is expected to hold similar engagements with other political groups and campaign organisations as part of efforts to build consensus ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.
