American comedian and actor Kevin Darnell Hart, better known as Kevin Hart, is asking a court to order his former assistant, Miesha Shakes, to pay $50,000 for allegedly breaking a confidentiality agreement.

Court documents reportedly show Hart claims Shakes violated a non-disclosure deal she signed while working for him between 2017 and 2020. He says she later shared private details about his life in an interview with blogger Tasha K.

Hart also alleges that, before the interview was published, there was an attempt to stop it from airing in exchange for $250,000. He says he refused the demand, reported the matter to the police and sent a cease-and-desist letter. The interview was still published online.

Shakes has reportedly argued that the agreement was not valid because Hart did not meet certain conditions. However, Hart’s legal team disputes this claim and is seeking enforcement of the contract.

In a declaration, Kevin said, “Working in the entertainment industry, my livelihood depends in part on my reputation and the public’s perception of me, particularly in light of the fact that I am involved in a number of family-oriented projects.”IMG 2436

He said he also represents several national brands. He added that these endorsement deals depend on how the public sees his reputation.

Kevin argued that Miesha should pay a $50,000 penalty. He said this was the agreed fee for breaking the non-disclosure terms.
