Veteran singer Konga has slammed Grammy winner Burna Boy for using his music in the song ‘Update’ without reaching out to him.

The ‘Kabakaba’ singer shared his frustration during a recent chat on the Hits Don’t Lie podcast. He argued that if Burna Boy could give American star Toni Braxton 60% of the earnings from ‘Last Last,’ he should show the same respect to homegrown legends.

“If Toni Braxton is getting 60%, why can’t he come and talk to me first?” Konga asked, noting that he had tried to settle the matter peacefully months ago.

Despite the disagreement, Konga admitted he has held back his lawyers because he is a fan of Burna Boy’s global success. However, he pointed out that this isn’t the first time, claiming his lyrics were also used in the ‘Sungba’ remix with Asake.

Since his request for a joint remix of his hit ‘Kabakaba’ went ignored, Konga joked that he has now decided to start sampling Burna Boy’s music without asking as well.
