The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Kwara State,Engr. Yakubu Danladi- Salihu said security, citizens empowerment and social welfare would form the thrust of his administration if elected as the governor of the state in 2027.

Danladi – Salihu said the three key areas would be prioritised to make life easier for the people of the state.

Speaking in an interview with BBC News , Danladi- Salihu said no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere devoid of peace and adequate security.

“Without peace, it is difficult to bring development to the state,” he said.

The gubernatorial hopeful explained that his administration would build on the successes of the incumbent Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq while intensifying efforts in sectors where more work is still required.

On citizen empowerment, Danladi- Salihu noted that a society that fails to empower its people will remain stagnant, stressing that productivity of the citizens is central to the state’s development.

He added that his third priority would be the implementation of people-oriented projects and initiatives centered on social welfare, particularly in education, health and agriculture, which he described as critical drivers of Kwara’s progress.

He also disclosed plans to create a conducive environment that would attract investors to the state and drive industrialisation.

He acknowledged that the narrative has started changing in the last seven years under the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq, and pledged to further boost investment in agriculture and other productive sectors.
