The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed the 2024 appropriation bill of N292,741,292,132.30 into law.
The state governor, AbdulRazaq Lawal had on December 14, 2023 presented a budget of N296,457,875,578.00 to the House for passage.
The House, however, reviewed the budget downward by N3,716,583,446 representing a 1.5 percent decrease.
The speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu commended his colleagues, especially members of the appropriation committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Arinola Lawal for the due diligence and success of the exercise.
He explained that the budget as passed puts capital expenditure at 61 percent and recurrent expenditure at 39 percent.
Danladi-Salihu commended Governor AbdulRazaq for churning out the budget of economic expansion and collective prospect and for his commitment towards sustaining payment of counterparts’ funds to develop the state.
