Kwara Ex-Reps Member, Ahman- Pategi, Dies At 59

A former member representing Edu/ Patigi federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from Kwara State, Hon. Aliyu Ahman- Pategi is dead.

Ahman-Pategi who would have turned 60 on 31 December served in the lower legislative chamber for 12 years.

He was also a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the build ups to the 2019 general elections in Kwara State.

The founder of Ahman-Pategi University, Pategi, in Kwara North died on Thursday in Abuja.

The news of his demise has gone viral on social media spaces in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

One of his political associates, Alh Razaq Lawal announced the passing of the federal lawmaker through a post mourning his passage on his Facebook page.

 

LEADERSHIP reports that Ahman- Pategi had been out of circulation in the state for sometimes before his death.

 

Also, the Ahman-Pategi family in a terse statement posted on social media platforms, announced the death of their son.

 

The statement reads: “Innalillahi waina ilahi raj’una, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Is Dead

 

“May Hon. Aliyu Bahago’s soul rest in peace. He was a notable figure in Nigeria, serving as a member of the House of Representatives and Pro- chancellor of Ahman Pategi University in Patigi, Nigeria.

“His contributions to education and politics will be remembered. May his family and loved ones find comfort during this difficult time.”
