Kwara Senator Pledges Not To Abandon Constituents 

The senator representing Kwara North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Umar Sadiq, said he has, so far, granted scholarships to 300 indigent students in his constituency.

He said the scholarships covered primary to post graduate school levels.

The federal lawmaker added that he had also bankrolled surgeries for 500 people in the district.

Sadiq made these disclosures while featuring on the Kwara State Council Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Media Parliament themed “Raising the bar of good governance in Kwara North through effective kegislation” held in Ilorin, the state capital on Tuesday.

He added that 10 classrooms fully equipped  with instructional materials were built by him to ensure easy access to quality education in the area.

In the area of provision of water, the lawmaker said that he sunk 100  boreholes for different communities in the district.

He assured his people of more social amenities, women empowerment and human capital development.

The lawmaker acknowledged the pragmatic efforts  of Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq at developing the hitherto neglected Kwara north.

Earlier, the chairman of NUJ in Kwara State, Comrade AbdulLateef Ahmed, said the Media Parliament is geared to continually engage the elites, particularly public officers  to make them accountable to members of the public.
