Newly appointed permanent secretary for the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ismaila Abubakar has pledged to lead an inclusive administration.
Abubakar, who assumed office after being redeployed from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, emphasised the importance of unity among staff members to enhance the ministry’s performance in fulfilling its mandate.
According to a statement issued by the ministry’s director, press and public relations, Olajide Oshundun, the permanent secretary highlighted the need for a cohesive and harmonious work environment to overcome obstacles hindering the government’s agenda in the labour sector.
He invited staff to share ideas for overcoming challenges and ensuring a positive work atmosphere.
While acknowledging the existing teamwork, Abubakar stated that operating as a united force would naturally address deterrents to achieving goals.
Expressing his commitment to providing a conducive working environment, the permanent secretary conveyed his honour in contributing to the labour sector and thanked the ministry’s management and staff for their warm reception.
In response, the director overseeing the office of the permanent secretary, Chris Amadi, welcomed Abubakar and assured him of the support from the ministry’s management and staff.
Amadi stressed the significance of the labour and employment ministry in the administration’s six priority areas and emphasised its critical role in the government’s success.
The permanent secretary was received by the directors of the ministry and heads of parastatals.
