Police authorities in Lagos State have arrested a 31-year-old suspected armed robber in the Kosofe area of the state, managing to seize his firearm.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesman in the state, the arrest took place in Ikeja on Tuesday. However, the suspect’s associates managed to escape the scene.

Hundeyin said, “Patrol officers from Owode-Onirin Division observed five young men gathered around a broken-down truck. Upon the officers’ approach, the young men swiftly dispersed.

“Despite the escape of his associates, the suspect was apprehended and upon inspection, found in possession of a locally-fabricated firearm.”
