Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers in connection with a series of attacks at an estate in Sangotedo, reinforcing ongoing efforts to curb violent crime across the state.
The State Police Spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi identified the suspects as Balogun Teslim, Suleman Balogun, and Peter Oluwagbemi.
She revealed that they were apprehended following a distress call linked to robbery incidents that occurred on April 11 and April 13, 2026. Items recovered from them include a locally made pistol loaded with six rounds of 9mm ammunition, face masks, ropes, a hammer, pliers, cellophane tape, and black jackets believed to have been used during the operations.
According to her,“ The suspects were initially mobbed by members of the public before officers intervened. They were subsequently rescued and taken to a medical facility for treatment.”
Meanwhile, two of the suspects have reportedly confessed and identified an accomplice, Kinsley, who remains at large.
The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for violent crimes, warning residents against jungle justice.
“Members of the public should desist from taking the law into their hands and instead report suspicious activities to the police,” he said.
He, however, added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
