The lawmaker representing Darazo/Soro Federal Constituency, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has offered to sponsor the tertiary education of Hamisu Ibrahim and other outstanding students of the Gifted Schools who achieved similar results in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Soro, in a statement issued yesterday, expressed delight over the performance of Ibrahim, a student of Gifted School, Darazo, who scored 213 in the just-concluded JAMB examination.
The lawmaker announced scholarships for him and all other Gifted School students who scored 180 and above. “So we are considering a benchmark of 180 marks for my scholarship,” Soro added.
He recalled that in 2021, his office established four Gifted Secondary Schools in Sade, Soro, Darazo, and Kafin Madaki, alongside a Special Primary School in Lanzai, as part of efforts to strengthen both primary and secondary education in the Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency.
According to him, tuition-free, merit-based schools provide students with complete learning materials annually and periodic stipends to support their welfare.
Soro further noted that in 2025, he expanded his educational interventions to the tertiary level by facilitating the establishment of a National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centre in Soro, Darazo local government area.
He emphasised that investment in education remains the most valuable investment any society can make.
“By this notice, the management of the four Gifted Schools is requested to review the JAMB results of their graduating students and forward the details of those who meet the criteria for necessary action,” he said.
He also prayed for the continued success of students in their academic pursuits.
