A member of the House of Representatives representing Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency, Fidelix Joseph Bagudu, and a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Kajuru Constituency, Usman Danlami, have thrown their weight behind Governor Uba Sani’s request to the minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) to establish a military formation in Kurmin Wali.

Recall that over 100 worshippers were abducted in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru local government area of the state, last Sunday during service and they were yet to be rescued by the security operatives.

The lawmakers said the proposed military base would strengthen security in the community and extend protection to surrounding rural and agrarian areas.

They acknowledged Governor Sani’s explicit assurances that the state government working with the federal government would secure the release of the abducted worshippers.

The lawmakers commended the governor for his prompt visit to Kurmin Wali community to commiserate with the people.

The statement expressed deep concern over the kidnapping incident.

The statement appealed to the residents of Kurmin Wali and the Kajuru local government area to remain calm, patient, and united, assuring them that concrete steps were being taken to address the situation.
