Green Energy International has said its LEADERSHIP Newspaper award will spur indigenous oil firms to greater heights.

The company also disclosed that the Otakikpo Terminal has exported nearly two million barrels of crude since it began operations in June 2025.

Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of the company, at the 18th Annual LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards held in Abuja on Thursday, the director of legal services at Green Energy, Olusegun Ilori, praised the LEADERSHIP recognition as vital encouragement for local operators to keep investing in the energy sector.

The Otakikpo Terminal is considered a key step toward unlocking stranded assets and ramping up Nigeria’s oil production capacity.

The terminal has drawn keen interest from operators needing export infrastructure for their crude. Ilori outlined the firm’s integrated oil and gas operations, spanning exploration, gas utilisation for power generation, and infrastructure to minimise resource waste. He noted that the Otakikpo Terminal specifically targets operators stalled by lacking evacuation facilities.

“We exported almost two million barrels from that terminal in record time,” Inori said.

“Many companies are now lining up to use it, fulfilling our goal in establishing the facility.

”The terminal promises to revive stranded assets, spur field development, and support the federal government’s drive to boost national oil output. Inori added that Green Energy, now valued at about $600 million, expects increased terminal use to attract new investments and strengthen Nigeria’s crude exports.

The annual conference and awards, organised by LEADERSHIP Newspaper, recognise individuals, organisations and institutions that have made significant contributions to national development across various sectors, including governance, business, security and the energy industry.
