Elsie Okpocha, the entrepreneur and ex-wife of veteran comedian Basketmouth, has broken her silence following viral social media reports claiming that her previous marriage ended due to paternity fraud.

The reports, which circulated widely on Facebook, alleged that the couple’s decade-long union collapsed after it was discovered that the comedian was not the biological father of their children. Reacting via her Instagram story on Wednesday, Elsie dismissed the claims as “unimaginable stories” and questioned the source of the misinformation.

“All you Facebook bloggers fabricating lies. Is Basketmouth aware he made that statement?” she asked, mockingly suggesting that even her ex-husband would be surprised by the narrative.

While admitting that as a public figure, she is often the target of false rumours, Elsie issued a stern warning to content creators to maintain boundaries regarding her family. She made it clear that while bloggers can target her, she will not tolerate her children being used as “clickbait.”

“You can make up unimaginable stories about me, but please leave my kids out of this nonsense!” she warned.

Basketmouth and Elsie officially ended their marriage in 2023. At the time, the comedian requested privacy and maintained that both parties remained committed to peacefully co-parenting their three children. Since the split, Basketmouth has been linked to colleague Victoria Eze, whom he playfully referred to as his “award” at the 2025 AMVCAs.

As of the time of this report, Basketmouth has not issued a statement regarding the recent paternity allegations.
