‘Let Go Of Grudges, Allow Yusuf To Govern Kano’, Ganduje’s Wife Tells Kwankwaso

Former First Lady of Kano State, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged former governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to set aside political differences and allow Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to effectively carry out his duties to the people of Kano State.

Mrs Ganduje made the appeal while speaking at an empowerment programme organised by the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Bunkure.

“I call on the former Kano State governor to take heart. Abba has worked under him tirelessly for 40 years at his directive, so I urge his mentor to let go of all grudges and accept the governor’s decision to move to the APC so he can work effectively for the progress of Kano,” she said.

Addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the former First Lady called for unity within the party following Governor Yusuf’s decision to join the APC.

“Since the Kano State governor has decided to join the APC, we should all come together and unite to ensure progress, both the old APC members and the new members that came with the governor,” she added.

“My husband, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, came to Kano recently to receive Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the APC. After the many court cases following the outcome of the last election, all the way to the Supreme Court, God willed that Abba himself decided to return to the APC,” she said.

She added that the former governor cut short a long journey to personally welcome Governor Yusuf, describing the move as a reflection of his commitment to unity and development.

“My husband promptly returned from a long journey and welcomed him gladly because he is not a man who holds malice against progress. He is always open to unity,” Prof. Hafsat Ganduje stated.
